When we made our decision in March last year to postpone our 2020 wedding to May 2021, it seemed like we were being overly cautious.

When we built this site and invited you all to join our excitement we were cautiously optimistic, but optimistic all the same.

When things were beginning to look a bit worse with the pandemic and tiers were introduced, we held back from any rash decisions. Instead we explored alternative options and vowed to wait until January to make any big decisions.

Well January is now here. Yesterday we sat down armed with tea, biscuits and stationery with the aim of making plans for 2021 and beyond. There were a lot of tears (and that was just Andrew ;) ) but we got there and made decisions that we never wanted to have to make, but there we go:

May 2021 - large wedding cancelled:

Our wedding as it currently stands will, unfortunately, be cancelled. Our venue and suppliers have been notified. We are now planning a simple ceremony and meal with our immediate family members in July - which could also change subject to restrictions by then.

Future party plans:

One day when this is all over and there is no 'social distancing' or restrictions on large gatherings in place, we plan to hold a big party and you will all be invited! Whether that's in two years or five - who knows. As you can understand, we're reluctant to commit to any new dates until there's a bit more certainty.

We are so incredibly sorry, this has been one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make. We appreciate your patience and understanding and look forward to the time when we can all get together and sing, hug and dance the night away!
